It appears voters in the Murrells Inlet-Garden City Fire District overwhelmingly approved a property tax increase.
Unofficial numbers from Horry and Georgetown County voters show 94 percent voted in favor of the plan.
Money raised from the tax will help pay for additional fire services… as well as a new fire station in Murrells Inlet.
Supporters also say it will also mean lower insurance rates.
