The early months of early 2015 will go down in the record books. With bone-chilling temperatures and massive snow accumulations across much of the United States, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina wants to spread a ‘thaw out’ to residents of cold-weather destinations.

On March 3, Visit Myrtle Beach launched a contest appropriately titled ‘Thaw Me Out,’ encouraging residents to submit their photos, videos and stories as to why they deserve and need a break from the winter weather.

Fans can submit their stories, videos, and photos to Visit Myrtle Beach’s Facebook page or Instagram channel (

and

) using the #ThawMeOut and #MyMyrtleBeach hashtags to share how the winter weather has impacted their family and why they deserve to ‘thaw out’ in Myrtle Beach.

Individuals submitting photos, videos, or stories will have a chance to win a three-day, two-night vacation to the Myrtle Beach area.

“The harsh winter weather has been a burden for many across the country. Millions are anxious for spring to get here, and we want to give some of them an early seasonal gift through this campaign,” said Brad Dean, president and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce/CVB. “With 60 miles of uninterrupted coastline, the Myrtle Beach area offers sunshine, sandy beaches and plenty of attractions and entertainment for visitors. Our family-friendly destination is the perfect place to recover from the winter blues, thaw out and celebrate the coming of spring.”

The contest runs through March 31, 2015. For more information about the ‘Thaw Me Out’ contest, go to www.VisitMyrtleBeach.com or www.Facebook.com/VisitMyrtleBeachSC.
