LORIS, S.C. (WBTW)- On Sunday night, Horry County police responded to Rhonda Court in reference to a burglary in progress.

Police reports say that when they arrived, officers found three victims in the yard and were notified that there were more injured people inside the house.

One victim was outside feeding her cat when she noticed a car pull up in the yard. When she went inside to tell someone in the house that a car was outside, the suspects entered the home and a struggle ensued.

Victims say at least one of the suspects was armed.

At some point in the incident, one victim was able to get her personal firearm and fire it at the suspects.

Witnesses say that they heard shots and saw a dark Chevrolet or GMC pickup truck leaving the scene.

Police have not made any arrests yet and the investigation continues.
