Victim in fatal crash in Florence identified

FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – One person died after a car crash in Florence late Thursday night, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Corporal Sonny Collins with the highway patrol said the wreck happened around 11 p.m. Thursday night on Highway 52 near Anderson Field Road.   A Honda Accord traveling south lost control, went across the median, and hit an SUV head on, adds Collins. Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken says Julia Margaret Barr, 50, of Florence was the driver of the Honda and died in the crash.

Each vehicle involved had two occupants says Collins.

The other three victims went to the hospital. Collins said everyone was wearing seatbelts, and no charges will be filed in the crash.
