FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – We now know the identity of the person killed after an early morning crash Saturday on US Hwy 76 in Florence County.

Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken identified the victim as Jarrod Lamont Jackson, 28, of Timmonsville.

According to Corporal Sonny Collins with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a tractor trailer was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of US 76 and Lynches River Road in Cartersville around 3:40 a.m Saturday.

The driver of the tractor trailer attempted to turn onto US 76 when a 2010 Infinity, driven by Jackson and traveling west, crashed into it. Jackson died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Corporal Collins says no charges have been filed at this point. The crash is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Florence County Coroner’s Office.
