Update: Suspect in Lake City shooting death under arrest

Update: The suspect in a shooting death at a trailer park in Lake City has turned himself in, according to the Lake City Police Department.

Rashon Malik Cooper turned himself in to police, the LCPD reported at about 12:50 p.m. on Monday. 

He is being held at the Effingham Detention Center.

LAKE CITY, SC (WBTW) – Police are asking for help searching for a supsect in the shooting death of a 20-year-old on Sunday afternoon.

The Lake City Police Department has named Rashon Malik Cooper as a suspect in a deadly shooting that happened in the Coker Mobile Home Trailer Park on South Morris Street.

Police identified the victim as Jaivon Lee Jones, 20, of Lake City, in a LCPD press release on Monday. 

When officers arrived just after 2 p.m. Sunday, they found the victim and transported him to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
