FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) -UPDATE: Florence County Emergency Management says their Frontier landline phone service is not down in Florence County. Earlier an old press release from November was sent out stating their phone lines were down. They have since corrected that statement and state that it is not a current event.
“Earlier this evening an old Media Release was sent out by mistake. It was an email about the Frontier Landline Phone Service outage, that occurred in the Johnsonville & Lake City area of Florence County. This outage happen in November of 2017. ORIGINAL: Florence County Emergency Management officials warn residents that Frontier landline phone service is down Wednesday evening.
According to Levi James, Jr., Florence County Emergency Management Public Information Officer, Frontier landline phone service in the Johnsonville, Pamplico, and Lake City areas is down. James advises anyone needing emergency assistance will need to call 911 from a cell phone.
Frontier Phone Company is working on the problem, but any questions should be directed to the representatives with Frontier, James advises. Florence County emergency officials will update the community when the landline access is restored.
