Two teenagers are dead after a wreck Wednesday night.
According to Lance Cpl. Jedd Jones of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 8:30 at the intersection of Glenn’s Bay Road and Highway 17.
Jones says a 2014 Ford Focus was driving south on Highway 17, and 17-year-old Riley Bloch from Conway was driving a 1997 Chevrolet truck north. The driver of the Ford was turning left on Glenn’s Bay Road, when the Bloch ran the red light and hit the Ford on the right side.
According to Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard, Bloch and the passenger in the Ford, 16-year-old Gavin Brunetti from Surfside Beach, died Wednesday night at Waccamaw Hospital.
The passenger in the pickup and the driver of the Ford were treated at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for injuries.
The Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
