CANDLER, NC – Deputies are looking for two people who stole a motorcycle after the owner tried to sell the bike through Craigslist.
Buncombe County deputies say 28-year-old Timothy Douglas Lance and 28-year-old April May Johnston contacted the victim after he posted an ad on Craigslist trying to sell a motorcycle.
Investigators say that Lance took the motorcycle on a test drive from the victim’s house in Candler and did not return. They say woman he was with, Johnston, then drove away when the owner asked her where Lance was going.

The Sheriff’s Office says Lance has outstanding warrants for Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, Obtaining Property Under False Pretenses, Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Johnston has an outstanding warrant for Aiding and Abetting Larceny.
The motorcycle is a 1997 Honda CBR 600 F3 and is purple with a yellow tail section, yellow wheels, and yellow and orange lightning bolts on both sides. The motorcycle has North Carolina license plate 6C2483.
