LAURINBURG, NC (WBTW) – Deputies with the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people at a hotel in Laurinburg Monday.

Sheriff Ralph Kersey says the criminal investigation division and deputies of the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office attempted to

serve a warrant on a suspect at Scotland Inn in Laurinburg when they discovered a large amount of narcotics in the room.

Detectives seized 3.6 pounds of marijuana, 25 ecstasy pills, 9.5 grams of powder cocaine, 5.7 grams of crack cocaine, and two guns, according to Kersey.

Eric Fields and Melissa Leggette were arrested and charged with possession with intent to sale and deliver marijuana, possession with intent sell deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver ecstasy, possession of a stolen firearm, conspiracy to sell and deliver marijuana, conspiracy to sell and deliver cocaine and conspiracy to sell and deliver ecstasy.

Both suspects were placed in Scotland County Detention Center. Eric Fields received a $20,000 secured bond and Melissa Leggette received a $10,000 secured bond.
