CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) – Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden confirms two people are dead following an Horry County crash.
It happened just after 7 p.m. Sunday on Highway 378 and Henry C. Lane outside of Conway.
According to Lance Corporal Jedd Jones of the SCHP, three cars were involved in the crash.
Lance Corporal Jones says the driver of a 2002 Chevy Pickup was traveling east on Highway 378, when the pickup crossed into the westbound lanes, and struck a 2006 Lincoln SUV head-on. A 2013 Nissan then struck the Lincoln from the back.
Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden said Derrick Darrell Adams, 29, of Cades and Stacy Marie Godwin, 36, of Myrtle Beach. were killed in the crash.
Ms. Godwin was the driver of a white Chevy Avalanche. Mr. Adams was a passenger in the same vehicle, McSpadden said.
The male driver of the Lincoln was flown to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center with serious injuries, and the male passenger of the Lincoln also went to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. The male driver and the female passenger of the Nissan were transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
