CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – Investigators say that two man from Conway were arrested on charges connected to sexual exploitation of minors after being accused of being involved in distributing child pornography via a file-sharing network.
Guy Eugene Kaipo Lavalouis and Charles Jared Thomas were taken into custody by officers from the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office. The Conway Police Department and Horry County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in the arrests.
Lavalouis was arrested on Tuesday. He is charged with two counts of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor, a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years in jail on each count, and also with ten counts of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor, which also carries up to 10 years for each violation.
Thomas was arrested on Wednesday. He is charged with thirteen counts of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and with five counts of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Both cases will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
