SUMTER, SC (WBTW) – Investigators with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, Sumter police, SLED and the Richland County Sheriff’s Office say two people have been arrested in an ongoing chop-shop scheme.
According to a release from Public Information Officer Ken Bell, Anthony Todd Coursey, 49, of Sumter was charged with three counts of receiving stolen goods, and one count each of breach of trust with fraudulent intent and conspiracy.
Christine Marie Connor, 36, of Wedgefield was charged with two counts of receiving stolen goods, two counts of altering, defacing or destroying a vehicle identification number; and one count of conspiracy.
More arrests are expected, investigators say.
