FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Florence County Deputies say they took two people into custody Thursday after a driver refused to stop for deputies.
The press release from Major Michael Nunn with Florence County Sheriff’s Office says deputies tried to stop a suspected stolen car around 9 a.m. Thursday on South Irby Street near Third Loop Road.
The driver refused to stop, and led deputies on a chase that ended when the truck collided with three other cars at the intersection of Irby Street and Second Loop Road. No Florence County Sheriff’s Office vehicles were involved in the crash.
After the crash, the suspect ran from deputies and was arrested on Church Street after a brief manhunt.
Domerious Deon Allsbrooks, 19, of Atkins was charged with failure to stop for a blue light, three counts of malicious injury to personal property, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a firearm or ammunition by a convicted felon and two counts of burglary.
According to Nunn, investigators also arrested Aundrea Michelle Herbert, 21, of Greeleyville who was a passenger in the car. Herbert was charged with burglary and receiving stolen goods.
Nunn says prior to this incident, investigators had obtained warrants for Allsbrooks and Herbert for burglary.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
