LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) – The U.S. Navy’s Concert Band is stopping in Lexington as part of its 2015 spring tour.

The group is the service’s premier wind ensemble and performs Friday at 2 p.m. at the Lexington Performing Arts Center. It is performing an array of marches, patriotic works and orchestral selections. The concert is designed to be family-friendly and entertaining for veterans, families, individuals and those interested in joining the naval services.

Capt. Brian Walden is the band’s commanding officer. He says the band performs as part of the Navy’s outreach efforts with the nation’s citizens and its allies.

The performance is free and open to the public. It’s part of a tour of 32 cities in six states.
