GEORGETOWN, SC (WBTW) – The Georgetown Police Department charged three men in connection with copper thefts from power poles on Old Charleston Road.
According to a post on the department’s Facebook page, officers arrested Buddy Allen Muncy, 36, of Santee, Christopher David Zurcher, 33, and Alex Bradley Lawlor, 30, both of Georgetown, were arrested Tuesday for removing the copper ground wire from the poles.
The trio was charged with possession and use of certain tools in the commission of a crime and malicious injury to real property. Each suspect was booked into the Georgetown County Detention Center. Officers say the arrests were made after a community member called in the suspicious activity.
