MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Donny Brock with Trinity Behavioral Health joined News13 NOW at 9 a.m. on Tuesday to talk about opioid addiction treatment services his organization provides in the Marion, Dillon and Marlboro County areas.

Watch the video to learn more about the treatment options and how Brock says they can be effective.

Brock said Trinity, along with CareSouth, provides state of the art opiate use disorder care. Currently the program is funded in a manner which should not result in anyone being unable to access the care. The program is considered a model for rural opiate treatment and has been replicated in at least five other S.C. counties.
Evidence based opiate treatment includes an option for medication assisted treatment (MAT) that includes Suboxone. Absence-only programs alone do not match the preferences of most folks addicted to opiates and outcomes are much higher with MAT option.
