A child has been shot in Chesterfield County and flown to a hospital in Columbia for treatment.
A 2-year-old child was shot Thursday morning outside Cheraw, according to Chesterfield County Sheriff Jay Brooks. Deputies believe the shooting happened on Cleveland Street.
A deputy was flagged down off of Hwy 9 by someone driving the child to the hospital, said Sheriff Brooks. The child has since been flown to a hospital in Columbia for treatment. No information on the child’s condition is available.
Sheriff Brooks also told News13 this was not an accidental shooting.
