MURRELLS INLET, SC – A video that tells the story of Tidelands Health employee and physician partners who came to the aid of community residents during last year’s historic flooding has been named the Grand Prize Winner – Best Overall Video in PR Daily’s national 2015 Video Awards.

Titled “Rising Above the Tide,” the 11-minute video was praised by PR Daily for showing “what medical heroism in action looks like.” Among those featured in the video are Dr. Lizina Green and clinicians Emily Benson and Susanna Blakely, who traveled by helicopter and boat to deliver supplies and assistance to residents trapped by floodwaters, and nurse Monica Geddings, who kayaked from her flooded home to make sure she got to work on time.

The video was produced by Mark Roberts, a member of Tidelands’ in-house marketing and communications team. It beat out finalists including the University of Michigan Health System; UCHealth, Cincinnati’s academic health system; and DSM, a global sciences company with operations in 50 countries.

To earn the prize of Grand Prize Winner – Best Overall Video, PR Daily said, a video must convey “passion, strong feelings or an important idea embodied in a brilliant script or memorable shooting venue that elicited an extraordinary response from employees, stakeholders or public consumers.”

In addition to winning the grand prize in the PR Daily contest, Tidelands Health was a national finalist in the categories of marketing video and news story video. Category winners in the competition included such leading companies as Ford Motor Co., KPMG and The Honey Baked Ham Company.
