MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A Myrtle Beach man received a life-changing donation, thanks to a local healthcare facility.

Last month, Scott Christman lost his second leg due to complications from diabetes. He lost his leg just a few weeks after Hurricane Matthew caused almost $20,000 worth of damage to his home.

On Saturday, Tidelands Health teamed up with a local construction company to build Christman a new wheelchair ramp. Christman says he doesn’t know what he and his family would have done without this help.

“We’re not a rich family. We meet ends but that’s about as far as we go … and we were trying to pull it together and with their help, it’s amazing that they got this done. I’m very happy, I’m very blessed and they’ve been awesome”.
