Murrells Inlet, SC (PRESS RELEASE) – The mercury isn’t the only thing that goes up during summer. So does the demand for blood. Help replenish our community’s blood supply Tuesday, July 28, at Tidelands Health blood drive. Members of the community can donate blood from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Willbrook Service Center, located at 160 Willbrook Blvd. in Litchfield. Appointments will take priority, but walk-ins are welcome. Appointments can be made by calling 843-652-8200. Online registration can be done at www.redcross.org
In addition to having a valid ID, blood donors must be healthy, be at least 17 years old and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds. Remember, every day in the United States, approximately 44,000 pints of blood are needed.
