MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Thousands of people spent Tuesday evening at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, enjoying the best cuisine the Grand Strand has to offer.

Approximately 45 vendors served their signature dishes at St. Andrew Catholic School’s 33rd Annual Taste of the Town. Event organizers say more than 4,600 people stopped by the event by 7:30 p.m.

The event draws anywhere from 7,000 to 9,000 people each year, school officials told News13. Attendees could sample dishes from various restaurants for $1 per food ticket. Dishes ranged from entrees to appetizers and desserts.

While the event only lasted from 4 – 10 p.m., the benefits of participating reach far beyond Tuesday night.

“We come here, we taste the food, and if we like it, we make a night and go to the restaurant,” attendee David Snyder said.
