MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Police say five suspects walked off with at least 35 Nike and Adidas items, plus 16 children’s outfits, from a Myrtle Beach store.
At about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, five people entered the J.C. Penny at Coastal Grand Circle together and then separated throughout the store, the Myrtle Beach Police Department reports.
One suspect would distract store employees if they got too close to the other suspects, police report. Two of the suspects acted as a couple and looked at bedding while the others collected goods.
The following was reported stolen:
- 8 pairs of Adidas pants
- 8 pairs of zippered Adidas jackets
- 6 Nike T-shirts
- 2 pairs of Nike shoes
- 15 to 16 children’s outfits
- 3 to 5 Nike and Adidas tops
- 8 to 10 boys Adidas black pants and zipper tops
The suspects put the items in JC Penny’s bags as well as two mess bags used in the store for carrying merchandise, according to the report.
They all met up by the mattress section, according to the report, and left the store.
No injuries were reproted during the incident.
