MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Myrtle Beach police officers are investigating a reported car break-in near a beach access Thursday.
According to a police report, officers were called to 48th Avenue North around 2:45 p.m. when a man said he returned after being at the beach to find his car had been broken into.
The victim told police he locked his doors before leaving and when he returned, the doors were unlocked and his wallet was gone.
The man said he called his bank and several of his cards had already been used in Myrtle Beach area stores.
Police said several large purchases had been made at Best Buy, Wal-Mart and Lowes totaling nearly $1350.
