Myrtle Beach, SC (PRESS RELEASE) – Myrtle Waves Water Park continues its 30th Anniversary season with the opening of a brand new attraction, “The Rockin Ray!” The soft opening took place today, July 14, 2015 at 11:00am. The park ran a contest on Facebook asking Fans to “Like” the contest post and include why they should be one of the first guests to ride the new attraction during the Grand Opening Ceremony. Out of 200 entries, two winners, Amy Hagee Martin, a season pass holder from Stuart, Virginia and a non-season pass holder, Susan Parag from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina were chosen. Amy Hagee Martin renewed her wedding vows last week at the park and Susan Parag has been coming to the park since 1985 when it first opened. Their inaugural rides will be held at approximately 9:00am on July 17, 2015 before the park opens at 10:00am. Not only will they be one of the first guests to ride the Rockin Ray on Grand Opening Day, they also receive a Hula Hut Cabana rental for the day, a large pizza, 4 soft drinks and 6 bottles of water in a cooler pack valued at $285.00.
The Rockin Ray is an extreme water slide experience, a two person ride, standing 39 feet 8 inches tall!! The open slide rocks you from one side to the other, then half way back and shoots you out to a pool. You must be over 48″ to ride. This is the first new slide to open since Arooba Tooba at the park in 2008.
