A fun afternoon of music, spoken word, fine art, videos, and photography will take place from 1-5 PM on Saturday, April 11th at the Robeson County Public Library’s Osterneck Auditorium in Lumberton. It will be a Jam Session of many forms of creative expression and everyone is welcome to join in or just watch, listen and enjoy. This one-day mini-festival features scheduled performers and an open mic for those who want to take a turn at performing. Poets and authors will read original written works. Art, photography and videos will be on display. North & South Carolina musicians will be coming in from as far as Chapel Hill and Myrtle Beach.

John Santa, Bluegrass performer and storyteller will charm the audience with his banjo and some of the other 50 instruments he plays. Morris Cardenas, known for playing Classic Rock guitar will sing and entertain adults and kids alike. Lakota John Locklear, (NAMMY nominated in 2015) will pump up the scene with some Piedmont blues and sweeten the air with Native American flute. Jazz saxophone player, Ron Watson, will be coming up from South Carolina, and Betty Fisher will join us on Piano Accordion; other musical surprises are in store.

At the Jumbo Jam poets and authors will inspire everyone with their spoken words. Featured at the Jumbo Jam will be Weslyn Chavis, Tonya Elk Locklear and Kim Pevia. Fine art, original videos and photographs will be shown all afternoon, including paintings by Bucky Benson, digital works by John Antoine Labadie and photos by James Bass.
