CBS NEWS – Concussions are on the rise among children and teenagers. Researchers from the University of California in San Francisco found a 60 percent increase in brain injuries from 2007 to 2014. The largest increases were among 10-14 year olds with boys one and a half times more likely to suffer a concussion. Researchers say the rise may be due to increased participation in youth sports. A new study debunks the popular belief that e-cigarettes are simply a replacement for traditional cigarettes among teens. Researchers from the University of Southern California looked at more than 5,000 high school juniors and seniors and found a significant number who are vaping would not have smoked otherwise.
