Someone shot a 17-year-old boy who was walking along a street in Bennettsville early Friday morning.

The boy was walking with his brother and a group of friends on Wearing Street around 4 a.m., said Lt. Larry Turner with the Bennettsville Police Department. A bullet hit the boy in his right forearm; his injury was not serious Turner said. The boy did go to the hospital where he was treated and released.

The boy told police he heard several shots, but he did not know where they came from.  Police currently do not have a suspect in the shooting.
