COLUMBIA, SC – May is Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month.
According to the South Carolina Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy, the teen birth rate in South Carolina has fallen by 61 percent since the early 1990s.
South Carolina still has the 13th highest teen birth rate in the nation; nearly 4,300 teens give birth in our state each year. It costs state taxpayers $166 million each year.
