DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – Police responded to a woman who was shot on Lee Street in the city of Darlington Friday night, according to Sergeant Maureen Valazak with Darlington Police Department.
Valazak said the initial call to 911 was that the victim was shot during a drive by.
Once on scene, law enforcement along with Investigators located a 20 year old woman who had been shot in the chest and is now in critical but stable condition.
During the investigation, 17 year-old Keontrez Tyjuan Jackson was arrested on charges of felon in possession of a handgun, discharging a firearm in the city limits of Darlington, and simple possession of marijuana.
The details surrounding the shooting are still under investigation.
