Three people, including a juvenile, have been charged after a shooting on Williamson Road in the Freemont area that sent two people to the hospital.
According to Horry County Police Department Captain John Harrelson, 29-year-old Kenneth Earl Jackson, 35-year-old Jim D. Conyers, and 16-year-old Kamar Conyers and have been charged in connection with the shooting.
A police report from the department says on Saturday around 10:20 p.m., officers responded to a house on Williamson Road for a shooting. Officers were told that a burgundy PT Cruiser driven by the suspects had left the scene headed towards Conway on Highway 905 and notified nearby precincts.
According to the report, when officers arrived at the scene, they found that a female had been shot during an altercation. Bullet casings, projectiles, glass, and burgundy paint chips were also located in the roadway and bullet holes were found in the house.
The report also says a witness told police he saw the suspect vehicle being driven by a black male. This witness says he saw the car pull up to the home to pick up another black male and that was when “the shooting happened.” He also says someone from the vehicle fired shots toward the home and then the vehicle sped off towards the dead end of Williamson Rd., where it turned around and sped toward Freemont Rd.
Officers then spoke with another witness, who provided the names for two suspects, according to the report. This witness also said he didn’t see the shooting, but saw the victim exit his home after the shooting and saw the victim shot. He also told police that in the past, this victim and a suspect had a dispute, which lead to a fight and the victim being injured.
The report also states that after an officer spoke with the two victims, it was discovered that they were mother and daughter and there had been a physical altercation between the mother’s son and a suspect at an undisclosed location and time. As the mother and daughter were leaving their home, a juvenile suspect and his father reportedly pulled up to the home demanding to speak with a parent of the boy his son had been in a fight with. Another altercation began and the juvenile suspect returned to the car, where he reportedly pulled a pistol and began shooting in the direction of the victims.
Both victims were taken to a hospital for treatment. No information on their condition is available.
According to the report, while officers were on the scene of the shooting, other officers located the suspect vehicle on Hwy 905 and initiated a traffic stop.
