Ted Cruz visits Florence on campaign trail through SC

FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Ted Cruz visited Florence Monday night at Florence Darlington Technical College, and several people at the rally said it’s Cruz’s Christian Values that will help him win over voters in South Carolina.

Cruz spent a great deal of time talking about his Christian values and their importance in building the foundation of the United States of America.

Brett Martian attended the rally, and he says that will make a difference at the Republican Presidential Primary this Saturday in setting Cruz apart from the others.

“I think he’s got a good grasp especially in my church and in my school. I’ve heard lots of Cruz supporters,” said Martin.

In Monday night’s rally, Cruz said in his first year in office, he plans to put an end to common core, secure the boarders, rebuild the military, fix healthcare for veterans, address student debt, and focus on national security.

Cruz also made a promise to voters for his first day in office.

“The first thing I plan to do is rescind every single illegal and unconstitutional executive action taken by President Obama,” said Cruz.

South Carolina’s Republican Presidential Primary is set for Saturday, and Cruz will continue to travel around the state to try to pick up South Carolina voters as he continues his campaign trail Tuesday in Columbia at the Columbia Armory at 3:00 pm.
