STRAWBERRY PLAINS, TN (WATE) – A third grade teacher at Rush Strong School in Strawberry Plains, Tennessee is getting national attention for her parody of Adele’s “Hello.”

Her other hits include the TCAP version of “Your Lips Are Movin’,” “Let It Go” and “It Feels LIke Fire in My Brain,” as well as a version of “Rumor Has It” written for her students taking CRA standardized math tests.Mary Morris performed the song for teachers.
After the video of her performing the song at a faculty meeting received hundreds of thousands of views, some of her friends helped her create a full music video.Related:Tennessee moms create parody videos for ‘modern motherhood’
The response from other teachers has been overwhelmingly positive. “From one teacher to another…AMEN GIRL! You hit it spot on,” said Mary. “Your video is super awesome and should be the national snow anthem for all teachers,” writes Al.
The goal of most of Morris’ songs is to not only motivate the kids, but also poke fun. She performed a couple her parody videos at pep rallies to loud cheers from her students.
Full lyrics to song:
Snow, it’s me
I know we just got out for Christmas
But I’d really like some more time to myself, you see
So if you can come a day or two, or maybe 23
Oh snow, can you hear me
I’m inside my classroom dreaming about who it used to be
When we were younger and free
I’ve forgotten how the snow felt as it crunched beneath my feet
We need a snow day tomorrow
Or at least a good delay
If it’s got to be so cold
The least that it can do is snow
If I have to keep my students inside one more time
For recess, going to lose my mind
I love it when I get the call
That I don’t have to work at all
I can stay in bed, watch Netflix all day
I can even spend it in my PJs if I want
Snow, where are you?
It’s so typical of me to ask
If you can get a move on with the weather
You see, the kids are getting antsy and it’s rubbing off on me
It’s no secret that the both of us
Are running out of time
If it’s got to be so cold
The least that it can do is snow
If I have to keep my students inside one more time
For recess, going to lose my mind
I love it when I get the call
That I don’t have to work at all
I can stay in bed, watch Netflix all day
I can even spend it in my PJs if I want
If I want, Ooooohh
If I want, Ooooohh
If I want, Ooooohh
If I want, if I want
Take it from the teacher’s side
You won’t hear me apologize
For checking my cellphone every chance that I get
I get ready slowly, cause I’m holding my breath
There is no sound that is so sweet
As hearing salt trucks on the street
I can’t sleep in all day, until I wake up
We need lots of snow days
Not so much that we have to make them up
