PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WBTW) – The 8th annual Tastes at Pawleys charity event was held at the Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church on Sunday.

People came out to enjoy a wide assortment of food, beer and wine from 17 area restaurants.

Organizers expected more than 2,000 people to attend the event and all the money raised benefits father Pat’s Lunch Kitchen in Pawleys.

“It goes to support the poor and the needy, that’s what the church should be all about. Its not about us alone its about other people allowing the way to lift them up and give them a little bit about,” said Rev. Patrick Stenson.

Father Pats Lunch Kitchen provides more than 300 meals each week to anyone who walks in the door.

Organizers said the event will raise more than $35,000 for the charity.
