CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – Horry County’s annual Talkin’ Trash recycling program kicked off Friday at Daisy Elementary School near Loris.
Talkin’ Trash is a school recycling and waste diversion competition that encourages elementary schools to take part in waste reduction, recycling, composting, and waste management practices. It focuses on fourth graders.
“The older you get, the more you don’t want to change. So, you have to start them young, otherwise, they’re never going to know what to do,” says Recycling Coordinator Victoria Johnson.
This is the 20th year for the Talkin’ Trash program.
