MYRTLE BEACH, SC- A swimmer died Sunday after being rescued from from the ocean at 2nd Avenue North, according to Lt. Joey Crosby with Myrtle Beach Police.
Michelle McSpadden with Horry County Coroner’s Office said the swimmer was pulled from the ocean near 2nd Avenue Pier. The victim was identified as 58 year-old Young Gwon Go from Charlotte.
Beach Patrol and lifeguards were on the scene. Lt. Crosby said CPR was performed and the victim was transported to the hospital. The victim passed away at a local hospital as a result of the drowning.
