LITTLE RIVER, SC (WBTW) – Horry County police responded to an armed bank robbery in Little River on Wednesday.
A police report from the department says police responded to an armed robbery at the Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union, located at 1602 Highway 17, around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Witness reports say the suspect was wearing a black sweatshirt, a blue bandana with white square-like patterns, gold aviator style sunglasses, and medium blue sneakers with navy shoelaces.
According to the report, the suspect entered the bank and approached a teller station. The suspect then pointed a handgun toward two bank tellers and requested the doors leading behind the teller booth be opened. The suspect also requested the tellers to open all of the cash drawers. The suspect then took money from the drawers. A third victim then entered the bank and the suspect pointed a gun toward the victim. Shortly after, the suspect left the bank.
A tweet from the department on Wednesday also says a dog team was called to the scene and that 1 person was transported to the hospital for non-related medical issues.
