Horry County Police have charged a 21-year-old man with assault after an incident on restaurant row in Myrtle Beach.

Morgan Erkstram was charged with assault and battery third degree, the Horry County Police Department reported on Monday.

The incident happened in the area of 9707 North Kings Hwy at about 11 a.m. on Friday. 

Police were called in reference to a possible stabbing that already occurred, according to the report. After arriving, officers determined the incident was not an actual stabbing, but an assault.

Erkstram was taken into custody and transported to J. Reuben Long Detention Center, where he remains on  $1,000 bond.
