One person is dead after four people were stabbed Sunday evening in Johnsonville.
According to Major Michael Nunn with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, four people were stabbed shortly after 6 p.m. on Sunday at Bartell’s Landing near Poston Corner.
All four people were taken to the hospital, where one died.
Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken identified the person killed as 31-year-old Clint Poston of Pamplico, South Carolina.
Nunn also says a suspect is in custody.
Florence County Sheriff Kenney Boone says the stabbing allegedly followed a verbal altercation.
Boone also says the suspect took a golf cart that was being operated by an off-duty FCSO deputy. The deputy was forced at knife point to drive the suspect from the scene, but was able to escape unharmed a short distance from the scene.
Thom Berry, with SLED, says the investigation has been taken over by SLED at the request of the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.
Berry also says as of Friday afternoon, two victims are still hospitalized.
