ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WBTW)- On person is in custody, as the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a shooting that happened after a graduation party Saturday morning.

Officials say Joshua Woods, age 24 of 376 Lyndsey Lane, Shannon, North Carolina was shot around 3 am. Police say there was a graduation party being held for a family member and people in attendance were being asked to leave once the party was over.

According to Major Anthony Thompson, Joshua Woods went out to the road to ask the people parked in a vehicle beside the roadway to leave when a altercation happened between Woods and another man. Police say multiple shots were heard and Woods was seen lying in the road bleeding from the head when the shooting stopped.

Woods was taken by a EMS helicopter to a undisclosed medical facility for treatment. Woods is in stable condition.

Authorities say Charles Hunt, 21, of Lumberton turned himself in Monday afternoon.

Authorities charged Hunt with Assault With Deadly Weapon Intent To Kill Inflicting Serious Injury. He’s in the Robeson County Detention Center under a $500,000 bond.
