FAYETTEVILLE, NC — Fayetteville police say the landlord killed Monday was robbed before he was gunned down inside his office.

On Tuesday, police also released video of three people walking and two people running in the area around the time of the killing.

The incident happened around 2:18 p.m. along the 1900 block of Boxwood Lane in the Lakeside Mobile Home Park, Fayetteville Police said.

The first responding officers found Victor Cirello, 63, inside of the mobile home park office with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Fayetteville police said Cirello was “senselessly” shot during the course of a robbery by three men, who were seen fleeing the area, police said.

Cirello was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

Authorities are looking for three black males who fled after Cirello was shot to death during an attempted robbery on Monday afternoon, police say. Police, who said they believe it’s an isolated incident, are relying on surveillance video from nearby businesses to lead them to the suspects. After reviewing all the surveillance video, police hope to have a more detailed description of the suspects.

Treyon Tedder has lived in the mobile park all his life. He says it’s a fairly calm area.

“Not many people come around,” he said. “At times, people come in and play music but it’s pretty much a good neighborhood.”
