SURFSIDE BEACH, S.C. (PRESS RELEASE) – The Surfside Beach Police Department has charged a Surfside Beach man following a domestic assault. Officers responded to the 100 block of 6th Avenue North in Surfside Beach after the victim called 911 while being assaulted.
Officers arrived and heard the victim screaming for help. As Officers tried to enter the residence, the suspect, Tony Lee Hall, Jr., locked the door.
“This was an active assault when Officers arrived. The victim could be heard yelling for help and Hall could be heard telling the victim to be quiet” said Police Captain Arron Miller.
Officers continued to attempt entry until HALL unlocked and opened the door. Hall was arrested and the victim was transported to the hospital.
Hall is currently being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on the following charges:
Criminal Domestic Violence; High and Aggravated Nature
