Surfside Beach Memorial Day weekend events

SURFSIDE BEACH, SC – The Town of Surfside Beach’s annual Blessing of the Beach will be held on Sunday, May 29, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on the beach at the Surfside Beach pier. Opening prayer will be conducted by Grand Strand Community Church, music will be provided by the youth choir from Journey Church, sermonette will be conducted by Pastor Tom Wallace with Journey Church and closing prayer will be by Pastor Brent Thompson with Low Country Community Church. Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy the sunrise and service.

the town’s annual Memorial Day Cookout will also be held on Sunday, May 29. It’s from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Surfside Drive near Ocean Boulevard. Beach music, oldies and classic rock entertainment will be provided by The SwashTones Band. Concessions will be sold by the Town of Surfside Beach. Again, bring a chair.

Surfside Beach’s annual Memorial Day Service will be held on Monday, May 30, at 2:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial located on the corner of Surfside Drive and Willow Drive North.

This ceremony is dedicated to honoring those who gave their lives for the priviliges, freedoms and life we cherish today.
