SURFSIDE BEACH, S.C.- The Town of Surfside Beach has named the Town Hall parking lot at 115 Highway 17 N the designated place for people to meet and exchange items from internet transactions. Officers say that the area was chosen because it is well lit and has video surveillance 24 hours a day.
“We encourage our residents or anyone in this area who participates in these type of transactions to take advantage of this location. Please don’t meet strangers at private residences or in areas with which you are unfamiliar with,” said Chief of Police Rodney Keziah.
The town was able to provide this location with its existing lighting and surveillance camera infrastructure. No additional funding was needed for this project.
