Surfside Beach Circle K employee charged, accused of stealing lottery tickets

SURFSIDE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A Surfside Beach Circle K employee has been charged after allegedly stealing lottery tickets.

Deputies responded to the Circle K on Highway 17 Business in Surfside Beach around 10:15 a.m. on January 30, according to an incident report from the Horry County Sheriff’s Office. Upon arriving, the complainant reportedly said the suspect, identified in the report as Lorikcus Cher Frederick Roebuck, 26, of Myrtle Beach, was seen on camera taking lottery tickets multiple times. The suspect allegedly scanned the lottery tickets and took a portion of the winnings from the cash register, leaving an amount to pay for the tickets. The complainant reportedly said the suspect took about $300 worth of pre-paid lottery tickets.

According to J. Reuben Long Detention Center booking records, Roebuck is charged with attempting to defraud SC lottery and breach of trust with fraudulent intent under $2,000. Bail was set at $5,500.  Roebuck was booked around 7:45 a.m. Thursday and was release around 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
