LEXINGTON, SC – “I am so proud that Sheryn discovered her passion for teaching while serving our country on active duty in the U.S. Army,” said Spearman. “She is an inspirational educator, a role model in her community, and a great example of a service member who has successfully transitioned into the classroom,” said Spearman.
Sheryn Billue is a 10th-12th grade Mathematics teacher at Lexington High School in Lexington School District One. She worked as a Staff Meteorologist for the United States Army and discovered her love for teaching while volunteering at a local high school. Billue’s experience in the military made her aware of the need for more women in technical fields. She addresses this need through her role as a mentor to young women and participation in programs like “Aspirations in Computing” that aims to increase female participation in technology careers.
