NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – Darya Suddreth, owner of The Olive Shoppe, at Barefoot Landing, stopped by News 13 Sunday to show Lauren how to use different olive oils and balsamic vinaigrettes in every day cooking.
Suddreth used jalapeno olive oil as the base of a Mexican-inspired breakfast burrito. She combined sausage, peppers, and onions in the olive oil and sauteed them until the onions were translucent. She scrambled two eggs in the olive oil the combined the sausage, peppers, onions, and eggs in a flour tortilla. She placed the tortilla in an olive oil coated pan, added the filling and cheese, then rolled it all up into a burrito.
She topped the burrito with a roasted garlic vinaigrette, sour cream, and salsa.
Suddreth also showed off a yogurt parfait and blood orange pancakes that featured blood orange olive oil and chocolate balsamic vinaigrette, respectively.
The Olive Shoppe is located in Barefoot Landing an at the Cotton Exchange in Wilmington, NC. There’s another location coming to The Market Common District by May of 2015.
