SUMTER, SC (WBTW) – The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office released Tuesday that they have arrested a man accused of shooting a person on US 15 South last Friday in front of the Food Lion in Sumter.

Ken Bell with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office says 41-year-old Marcus Evans of Summerville was arrested and charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Warrants say Evans shot a victim in the right hip with a black pistol on Dec. 9.  Evans is a convicted felon and is not allowed to have a weapon.
