Stewart Fitness Championship returning to Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Johnny Stewart, the founder and promoter of Stewart Fitness Events, joined News13 NOW at 9 a.m. on Thursday to talk about a fitness competition returning to Myrtle Beach this weekend. Watch the video for more details, including Stewart’s thoughts on the advantages of weightlifting and general fitness. The following is a press release about the event:

Stewart Fitness Championships is coming back to the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on August 4, 2018. This is a branch of the award-winning Charlotte Cup which has around 4,000 in attendance each year.

Johnny Stewart Bodybuilding Competitions are recognized as the gold standard of fitness competition shows in the industry. As a member of the NPC, the same organization as Arnold Schwarzenegger competitions, Stewart Fitness Competitions are official preliminaries to the most respected and highest levels of fitness competitions within the industry. Competition categories include various fitness levels in different age and experience brackets for both male and female.

“We had a great year in Myrtle Beach in 2017 and we are here to stay” Johnny Stewart stated. “We bring in hundreds of athletes along with their families and friends and many are first time visitors to the Grand Strand and are looking for activities to enjoy while in the area”.

There are many vendor opportunities for local companies from restaurants to health-oriented businesses. Stewart is inviting businesses to participate in supporting the competitors by introducing themselves to those attending.

For the second year in a row, a portion of every vendor/sponsorship purchased will be donated to the Coastal Rescue Mission which is a locally based, nonprofit organization that feeds and assists the homeless and needy in our community including many veterans. Mr. Stewart, a veteran himself, is honored to support the CRM since they help the vets and others in need along the Grand Strand. CoastalRescueMission.org

Stewart will again be including the new category he created last year called the Grand Strand Championships, which will be open exclusively to Horry and Georgetown county residences at the August 4, Myrtle Beach competition.
