Funeral arrangements have been set for a Lumberton police officer killed after being hit by a car.
Visitation for Officer Jason Quick will be held on Wednesday, December 19 from 7-9 p.m. at the Rock Church of God, located at 2209 West Carthage Road in Lumberton, according to a press release from Captain Terry W. Parker, with the Lumberton Police Department. A funeral for Officer Quick will be on Thursday, Dec. 20 at 2 p.m. at the same church. A graveside service will follow at the Gardens of Faith, located at 5190 Fayetteville Road in Lumberton.
Officer Quick died after being hit by a car on I-95 on Saturday morning. He was investigating a crash on the I-95 Northbound lane near exit 22.
According to Sgt. Michael Baker with the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Officer Quick was attempting to walk across the northbound lanes and was struck by a passing 2017 Hyundai. The driver of that car was identified as Kadejera Inman, of Fairmont.
Quick was taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center, where he died. He leaves behind a wife and two children.
No other information about the crash is available.
